Is the seat of Jefferson County and located in a beautiful valley surrounded by magnificent mountains halfway between Helena and Butte. Boulder features a host of opportunities for hunting, fishing, hiking and biking (bouldermtchamber.org). Home to the world famous Boulder Hot Springs Inn, Spa and Retreat Center; and radon health mines including the Free Enterprise Radon Health Mine and Sunshine Health Mine. Every August it is the site of the Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo held the last weekend in August.
Historic buildings form much of the business district which includes a bar, two restaurants, a wellness center, small specialty shops and a pottery gallery. It is also home to the Merry Widow Health Mine . Basin is located ten miles south of Boulder along Interstate 15.
Recreation enthusiasts can enjoy the Whitehouse USFS Campground. The Cottonwood Lake Trail/Thunderbolt Mountain area and Bear Gulch Trails are popular with both hikers and equestrians.Both trailheads feature trailer parking and hitching racks.
Sits at the mouth of the narrow and winding Jefferson Canyon. Visit Cardwell to fish and float the Jefferson River. Cardwell is just 11 miles from the amazing Lewis and Clark Caverns
Is located on the Continental Divide at an elevation of 6,352 feet. Visitors can enjoy the Haystack Mountain Trail, Lowland Campground and the Sheepshead/Maney Lake Recreation area.
Is close to the popular Sheepshead hiking and climbing area, and the Park Lake Campground which offers easy access to hiking, fishing, canoeing, ATV trails, and camping. and every June the community hosts Clancy's Day complete with a parade and other family activities. Also home to the Old Red Schoolhouse, built in 1898 is the site of the Jefferson County Museum which features displays on historical sites, ghost towns, mining, ranching, railroads and more.
Is located at the very northern tip of Jefferson County and on top of one of the oldest prehistoric paleoindian sites in the state of Montana. Montana City is only six miles from the state capitol Helena.
Was a stagecoach stop during the late 1800’s and is home to Tizer Gardens, Montana’s only Botanic Garden. The high altitude display garden is next to the Elkhorn Mountains along Prickly Pear Creek. Open May – September, Tizer Gardens features a gift shop, theme gardens and a plant nursery.
A great stopover between Butte and Bozeman, nestled in the Jefferson Valley and beneath the Tobacco Root and Highland Mountains. Whitehall is located within sixty miles of three major airports, four colleges, five ski resorts, seven rivers and mountain lakes for fishing, backpacking and boating.
